Facebook is working to help small businesses weather the COVID-19 pandemic through several initiatives launched this week.
In addition to creating a center dedicated to businesses affected by the coronavirus epidemic, Facebook plans to deploy a $ 100 million grant program.
Here is more information on each of these initiatives.
Small Business Grant Program
Facebook is investing $ 100 million to help 30,000 eligible small businesses in more than 30 countries where Facebook is present.
Details are limited at this time and applications are not yet open, but Facebook’s grant program should help:
- Maintain the company’s workforce
- Cover the rent
- Put companies in touch with a larger number of customers
- Cover operating costs

Resources for Small Business
Facebook has also launched a resource center for businesses in direct response to the disruption caused by COVID-19.
The Business Resource Center includes advice on what to do next, a 30-page toolkit on best practices, and a quick quick guide.
There are also guides for using Facebook products during this period – like selling products on Facebook and Instagram, and organizing webinars via Messenger and WhatsApp.
Facebook also offers some free courses that businesses can take to make sure they get the most out of Facebook advertising tools.
Finally, Facebook recommends continuing to develop your brand by regularly publishing publications and encouraging interaction with customers.
